One team - we are one

In 2016, Isaque Bahiense and Philip Eger met for the first time in Munich for a seminar given by Isaque. At the time, he was a fresh brown belt - World Champion and on his way to becoming a black belt. Philip was a purple belt at the time and wanted to create better training conditions for his friends and himself in Nuremberg. A year later, Isaque came to Nuremberg for the first time as a fresh black belt to train with the local team and got to know Björn Wallat. They exchanged ideas and had various ideas for working together, but at the time nobody knew what the future would bring.
When Isaque won the IBJJF World Championships as a black belt for the first time in 2018, he felt the desire to use his success to give other people the opportunity to realize themselves in the sport. With this in mind, he founded the Dream Art Project with his business partner Warley Pimentel.

The history of our team

At the same time, Philip and Björn, together with their training partner Kilian Dütsch, realized that it was necessary to open their own jiu-jitsu school in order to progress in the development of the sport. In January 2020, the time had finally come and the gym was opened. In the same year, the Covid-19 virus pandemic ushered in challenging times, but the shared vision and loyalty of the members were the decisive factors in surviving this period.

Three years later, the school had developed further and they were looking for a group for the team in which they could use their individual strengths on an international level. The team around Dream Art had also continued to grow and had developed beyond the status of a pure social project into a fully-fledged team. This led to Dream Art winning the overall ranking in the men's and women's categories at the 2023 World Championships. In a joint exchange, everyone involved realized that working together made sense for everyone and the decision was made to bring the team in Nuremberg under the Dream Art banner.
The team in Nuremberg has officially been part of Dream Art since October 2023 and regularly hosts athletes from Brazil and the USA, who are at the top of the sport worldwide, for longer periods of time. At the same time, there are also plenty of home-grown athletes in terms of experienced coaches, which is why members get the best of both worlds in terms of training, which is reflected in various competition successes and personal development.
